When I started experimenting with photography in 2008, I had no clue what was in store for me long term. I had just purchased my first camera and decided to help out some friends who needed event photos. One year later, I was asked by a friend to assist at a wedding and I reluctantly said yes. Wedding photography was actually the last thing I ever wanted to do, but after shooting my first few weddings, I realized that I loved it! I found great fulfillment in helping couples re-live the most exhilarating day of their lives through the work I created. I soon decided to devote all of my efforts towards learning the art and craft of wedding photography. Through research, learning on-the-go, and constant practice, I eventually became a professional wedding photographer and discovered a passion that I never really set out to find.
Photography has been an incredible journey so far. I am grateful to have worked in so many different places doing what I love, and even more than that, I appreciate each and every couple who trusts me to capture their most important moments. That trust inspires me to continuously aim for the perfect balance between creative expression and honest documentation. I am truly passionate about what I do, and I hope to work with many more amazing couples who want to create great work together. My current home is based in Indianapolis, Indiana, however I'm excited to go wherever is necessary. If my style does appeal to you, please get in touch. I'd be happy to meet you!
Colleen & Joe’s wedding day was incredible. Everywhere I looked, there seemed to be the perfect moment unfolding. The entire day was filled with emotion, laughter, tears and smiles. It was truly a wedding that reminded me of why I love doing my job. They had their ceremony at the beautiful Saint Joan of Arc Church in Indianapolis, followed by photos at the Indiana War Memorials. They hosted their reception at Indiana Landmarks, which was the perfect location for a vintage, and intimate vibe. Congratulations to the newlyweds! ceremony, before heading to a separate photo location at Coxhall Gardens. Their reception was hosted at the beautiful Ritz Charles in Carmel, Indiana, which was absolutely stunning. You can't go wrong with a glass enclosed all-white garden pavilion! The entire day was filled with so much emotion, laughter and tears - it reminded me of why I love doing my job. Congratulations to Kelsey and Charlie!
I met with up Becca and Tim for their engagement session at Jay’s Christmas Tree Farm in Mooresville, IN. It was such a perfect location for the season, and special to Tim who spent time working on the farm during his childhood. I had a blast hanging out with these two, exploring the farm and capturing some fun-filled moments. I’m really looking forward to their wedding next September!
If you’re recently engaged, chances are you’ve just loaded your calendar full of to-do’s for your wedding. Your engagement session is probably one of the first things you’ll do. It’s the perfect opportunity to celebrate your engagement, make the announcement to all of your friends, and get the perfect photo for your Save-The-Dates or wedding website! There are infinite location possibilities in and around Indianapolis and plenty of themes to decide between. Indianapolis has plenty of character, variety and photogenic backdrops. I always believe that the best location is somewhere that represents the two of you or is special to your relationship. I also find that a good starting point is to decide between the vibe you’re going for – whether it’s more rustic, natural, vintage, trendy, retro or urban. Starting with your vibe or theme can help narrow down your selections dramatically, but if you’re still struggling to find the perfect location, I’ve included my favorite 12 suggestions below! This list is by no means comprehensive, but it will hopefully be a great starting point for you!
