When I started experimenting with photography in 2008, I had no clue what was in store for me long term. I had just purchased my first camera and decided to help out some friends who needed event photos. One year later, I was asked by a friend to assist at a wedding and I reluctantly said yes. Wedding photography was actually the last thing I ever wanted to do, but after shooting my first few weddings, I realized that I loved it! I found great fulfillment in helping couples re-live the most exhilarating day of their lives through the work I created. I soon decided to devote all of my efforts towards learning the art and craft of wedding photography. Through research, learning on-the-go, and constant practice, I eventually became a professional wedding photographer and discovered a passion that I never really set out to find.
Photography has been an incredible journey. I am grateful to have worked in so many different places doing what I love, and even more than that, I appreciate each and every couple who trusts me to capture their most important moments. That trust inspires me to continuously aim for the perfect balance between creative expression and honest documentation. I am truly passionate about what I do, and I hope to work with many more amazing couples who want to create great work together. My current home is based in Columbus, Ohio, however I'm excited to go wherever is necessary. If my style does appeal to you, please get in touch. I'd be happy to meet you!
Emily and John could not have had a more perfect wedding day, with 70 degree weather, a perfect sunset and guests who came ready for the party. There were so many awesome moments throughout the day, there was never a dull moment. These two were up for anything when it came to photos, and they had absolutely no trouble enjoying the moment with each other. I hope the very best for these two as they begin their new life together!
I met with up Becca and Tim for their engagement session at Jay’s Christmas Tree Farm in Mooresville, IN. It was such a perfect location for the season, and special to Tim who spent time working on the farm during his childhood. I had a blast hanging out with these two, exploring the farm and capturing some fun-filled moments. I’m really looking forward to their wedding next September!
Working with couples like Haley and John remind me of why I love doing what I do so much. They are two of the most genuine and fun-loving people you could meet. Their wedding day didn’t go exactly as planned due to rain, but they made the absolute most of it! I was thrilled that they both trusted me to take them out into the rain to capture some intimate moments of the two of them underneath the umbrella. They weren’t afraid of getting wet and had no problem just enjoying one another and making the most of the moment. I had an absolute blast covering their wedding day, and getting to meet their families and friends. Congratulations to the newlyweds!
